BESIDES striking good looks, television host and actress Anne Curtis showed off her martial arts skills including how to hold gun and knife for an upcoming Erik Matti film.

In a video uploaded by the director, Anne, who was wearing a black worktout tank top and sweatpants, demonstrated her fighting skills in a knife-wielding and sparring session.

Anne is going the extra mile by training her close combat skills and learning the Filipino martial art Pekiti-Tirsia Kali for “Buy Bust,” her first action role.

Months of preparation had the actress joining the workout routine of local Scout Rangers and mastering the proper way to handle a gun.

“I admire her hardwork and dedication to prepare for the role,” Matti said.

Not much has been disclosed about the film, other than it also stars Filipino-American Mixed Martial Arts icon Brandon Vera. But after seeing Curtis’ short training video, the movie will most likely be fast-paced and intense.

To quote the actress, “I’m pretty psyched.”

Erik has been on quite a roll in the past years for his movie thrillers “On The Job” and “Honor Thy Father” premiering in Cannes and Toronto, respectively. His film “Aswang Chronicles” also broke ground for VFX work in the country while delivering crowd-pleasing entertainment.

In earlier interviews with ABS-CBN news, Anne said that she will have no body doubles in performing the stunts and and there will also be no digital editing.

“No to doubles. That’s why I’m really putting in so much effort. I told this to direk [Erik] na kung pwede ako talaga. Seryoso talaga kaya inaaral ko as much as I can kahit pasa-pasa na ako, okay lang,” said Anne.
