Mandaue City Council passes resolution regulating Pokemon Go

The Mandaue City Council approved a resolution authored by Vice Mayor Carlo Fortuna, Councilors Raul Cabahug and Elstone Dabon warning motorists not to play “Pokemon Go” while driving.

The resolution also bars pedestrians from playing the mobile game while crossing the streets or walking along sidewalks. Pokemon Go was launched in the Philippines last Saturday.

The location based, open world augmented reality mobile game by Nintendo and Niantic requires the player to roam around the streets to search and get “Pokemons”, or pocket monsters in real world areas.
