Ombuds indicts Customs examiner

The Office of the Ombudsman – Visayas has indicted Albert Payusan Barliso, acting customs examiner of the Bureau of Customs – Collection District 7, on charges of qualified theft and violation of RA 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

He was accused of stealing money amounting to JPY 159,000 or about P59,402.00 from a Japanese national when the latter arrived at the Mactan Cebu International Airport last year.
