RUEL Zuniga knocked down 1,198 pins in six games to be named “Bowler of the Month” for August of the Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA) Monthly Tournament held last Tuesday at the Gaisano Bowlingplex Cebu City.
Clarence Tiu finished second with 1,157 pinfalls while Ed Aninon came in third with 1,154 pinfalls. Fourth placer was Maeng Viloria with 1,131 pinfalls.
Zuniga opened his bid with a 205 and consistently scored 170-plus pinfalls in the ensuing games to average 183.7 pinfalls.
Fifth to 10th placers were Maeng Viloria (1,131), Luke Bolongan (1,127), Razel Silva Nilsen (1,112), Lolong Uy (1,095), Boy Co (1,066) and Bel Suelto (1,049), respectively.
Zuniga joined other monthly winners namely Vivian Padawan (July), Suelto (June), Tiu (May), Bolongan (April), Calipay (March), Aui Padawan (February) and Clifford Tan (January) for the grand finals slated at the end of the year.
