CSBT to require drug test on bus drivers, conductors

Drivers, conductors and other workers of bus companies operating from the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) will now be subjected to a drug test.

CSBT head Joey Herrera said Capitol has decided to implement a stricter antidrug policy at the terminal following reports that there are bus drivers or conductors who are drug dependents.

Herrera said they were particularly concerned when they learned that three of the eight persons nabbed in a police a drug bust on Thursday night in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, were bus conductors of a company operating at CSBT. This caught him by surprise, he said, since the three worked for a company that conducts regular drug tests on its employees.

Herrera said they would ensure that bus company workers who fail the drug test would be terminated from service or banned from entering the terminal.
