Seven houses damaged by collapsed perimeter fence

SEVEN houses were damaged by a perimeter fence that collapsed under the weight of mud and floodwater in North Town Homes, sitio Murado Pilit in Barangay Cabancalan, Mandaue City at past noon Monday.

The back portion of the house owned by 36-year-old Norma Ortega was damaged but no one got hurt, Mandaue City’s Command Center said.

Five other nearby homes owned by Alwin Aliviado, Rosemarie Besto, Geraldine Dumdum, Ritchie Tabamo, Analyn Asusumo and Chona Galo were also damaged.

Mandaue City Mayor Luigi Quisumbing visited the area to check on the affected families. He also instructed personnel of the city’s Department of Social Welfare and Services to give packed meals to them.

Personnel of the city’s Office of the Building Officials (OBO) also visited North Town Homes to speak to its management.
