Remolino rules National duathlon

TALISAY City’s Andrew Kim Remolino added another feather to his cap as he dominated the men’s junior elite division of the 2016 National Duathlon Championships in Iloilo City yesterday.

Remolino, a national team member in triathlon, finished the sprint distance in one hour, 19 minutes and 57.

Other Cebuanos who managed podium finishes in the race were Miscelle Gilbuena and Joland Olmilla, both members of national duathlon team.

Gilbuena clocked 2:23:36 in an 8.5K run, 40K bike and 6K distance to finish second to Mirasol Abad, who submitted a time of 2:22:47. Alexandra Dumaran was third with a time of 2:30:13.

Joland Olmilla placed third in the men’s elite class with a time of 2:04:59.

National team member Jarwyn Banatao won men’s elite title with a time of 2:00:17 while former Cebu-based and Boholano triathlete Emmanuel Comendador clocked 2:04:28 to place second.
