AFTER blowing the roof off at the “X Factor UK” auditions, earning the nods from all four judges with her powerful rendition of Whitney Houston’s “All The Man I Need” and surviving this week’s Boot Camp, Filipina singer Ivy Grace Paredes is in for some bad luck.

The 33-year-old Ivy, a native of Malaybalay Bukidnon, was supposed to advance to the next level of the competition—after surviving the Boot Camp with her rendition of the Maria Carey hit “One Sweet Day” with fellow contestants Mike Hough and Lascel Wood—in the Overs Category, if not for issues concerning her VISA application.

Despite being a standout contestant, Ivy’s joy was short-lived after a report from an online edition of a UK-based tabloid newspaper last Saturday revealed a shocking spoiler on the Filipina’s status in the talent search competition.

According to The Sun, the standout contestant went on to qualify for the Judges House scheduled to be held in Los Angeles where she needs to acquire a visa in order to travel to the US. She was reportedly denied due to “an issue in her past.”

As a result, Ivy Grace’s “X Factor” journey had to end abruptly as she was forced to withdraw from the contest. The Sun’s report was eventually picked up by other UK-based news and entertainment sites.

Ivy has confirmed the reports on her Twitter account, where she was flooded with supportive messages.

“Thank you for the support dear and yeah this is real I am replying to you hahaha,” Ivy tweeted as a response to a supporter. (Apple Mae Ta-as)
