A 42-year-old seaman was wounded after he was shot by motorcycle-riding gunmen on Monday evening at the corner of MC Briones and Libertad Streets in Barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City.

Almar Hatamosa of Sitio Sudlon, Barangat Maguikay, was rushed to Perpetual Succour Hospital in Cebu City after sustaining gunshot wounds in his arm and body.

Senior Insp. Janelito Marquez, chief of Casuntingan Police Station, said the victim was just standing in the area when he was shot with a .45 pistol.

The gunmen wore full-faced helmets making it difficult to identify them.

According to Marquez, they could not yet determine the motive of the shooting as the victim was still recuperating at the hospital and they could not talk to him yet.
