IT is still not clear yet when the registration for Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and Barangay Elections will resume.

Cebu Provincial Election supervisor Lionel Marco Castillano told reporters yesterday he still has not received an advice from the Commission on Election (Comelec) Manila as to the resumption of registration.

Although the Comelec already issued a memorandum that there will be a resumption of registration, but the bill postponing the barangay and SK elections has yet to become a law.

“The resumption of registration cannot be set unless the law is passed and becomes effective,” Castillano said.

Meanwhile, Castillano said that all the activities of Comelec in their calendar are also suspended, such as the no gun ban, hiring of employees and the filing of certificate of candidacy.

Gun ban was supposed to be implemented from October 1 to November 17. While yesterday should have been the start of filing of COC.
