The Ombudsman-Visayas suspended Alcoy Mayor Michael Angelo Sestoso for one month and one day without pay after he was found guilty of simple neglect of duty.

He was likewise indicted for his failure to liquidate cash advances for his trips.

Sought for comment, Sestoso declined to comment saying he hasn’t received a copy of the Ombudsman resolution.

Sestoso was the former vice mayor of Alcoy.
