Remolino emerges 2nd fastest Filipino finisher in Hong Kong tri event

CEBUANO triathlete Andrew Kim Remolino ranked 30th in last weekend’s 2016 Hong Kong ASTC Sprint Triathlon Asian Cup but was the second fastest Filipino finisher in the grueling race.

The 16-year-old Remolino of the Talisay City Science National High School finished the race with a time of 1:06.53. His fellow Philippine Team member Julius Constantino placed 27th with 1:06.18.

Constantino was the fastest Filipino finisher.

The race featured a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike and 5k run.

Another Cebuano, Justin Chiongbian placed 32nd with a time of 1:07.50 while Brent Valelo ranked 41st spot at 1:11.49.

Chiongbian’s younger brother Yuan finished second to the last at 50th with a time of 1:15.10 and teammate Caleb Barlin at the bottom of the list at 1:17.38.

Daniel Hoy of New Zealand topped the race at 58:20 followed by Italian Massimo De Ponti at 58:29. Canadian John Rasmussen wound up third at 58:51.
