Top junior and senior badminton players converge at the Metrosports Badminton Center in Lahug for the third edition of the cash-rich Play it Forward Badminton Tournament.

THE Primary Group of Builders Badminton Club’s “Play It Forward 3 – Sweat for a Cause Goes Inter-School Badminton Tournament” kicks off today at Metrosports Lahug.

The Age Group category will set the ball rolling at 8 a.m. with the following levels for play: Ages 8 to 10 Basic and Intermediate, Ages 11-13 Basic and Intermediate, Ages 14-16 Intermediate and Ages 17-19 Intermediate.

Champions of the age group category will receive bags, cash prizes and medals except for the 14-16 age group where the champions will receive rackets in lieu of bags.

First runners-up for 8-10 age group will get bags and medals while the higher age groups’ second placers will receive cash prizes along with the bags and medals.

The Open Men’s and Women’s Doubles matches will commence at 10 a.m. while the Mixed Doubles tandems take to the courts at 1 p.m.

Four levels will be played for the Open Men’s Doubles category- D, E, F and G.
Women’s Doubles will have three – E, F and G.

Level D victors will receive P6,000; runner-up gets P3,000. Level E winners will get P4,000; runner-up will receive P2,000. Level F champions will earn P3,000; second placers will settle for P1,500. Lastly, Level G winners will pocket P2,000; runners-up bank P1,000.

As with previous Play It Forward Badminton Tournaments, the proceeds of this edition will be for the benefit of the Primary Group of Builders Badminton Club’s foundation scholars.
