THE Police Regional Office said six members of the Abu Sayaff bandit group arrived in Cebu last Friday.

Supt. Julian Entoma, chief of the PRO’s Regional Intelligence Division, said the group is led by a certain Commander Alhabsi Misaya.

“Based on our monitoring they came here to kidnap prominent personalities although they are also likely targeting malls and other commercial establishments,” he said.

Entoma said the Abu Sayaff bandits left Cebu last Sunday. “We continue to monitor if anyone is left behind and asked the Muslim communities in Cebu as well as management of malls, lodges and resorts to keep watch,” Entoma said.
