THOUSANDS of riders will be invading the city’s major thoroughfares when this year’s Biketoberfest unfolds on Oct. 28–29 at Cebu I.T. Park grounds in Barangay Apas, Cebu City.

The event, considered as the region’s longest-running and biggest motorcycle event, will be kicked off by the “ride around the city” on Oct. 28.

Organized by Star Touring and Riding Association Chapter 2301, the event is expected to gather at least 2,500 participants from 30 motorcycle clubs.

“We started in 2008 and since then, Biketoberfest ha has become a landmark and biggest motorcycle event in the region,” said Dr. Dido Aviles, the group’s secretary.

Apart from showcasing slick motorcycles, the event will also be providing entertainment as showbiz personalities Diana Menezes and Kim Domingo will be gracing the affair.

“We will also have local bands, and there will be prizes to be raffled off,” added Aviles.

Special awards such as best customized big bike and best Halloween costume will also be given away.

The event is also for a cause as proceeds will be donated to Unicef and Hero Foundation.

“We are helping underprivileged children. In the past, we donated school supplies and shoes to children from selected barangays in Cebu City,” said Cyril Gonzales, public relations officer of the association.

The group is headed by its president, Alan Cadavero.

Registration fee is pegged at P350, which will be inclusive of shirt and three raffle tickets.

The event is supported by Cebu Holdings Inc., Cebu Property Ventures and Development Corp. (CPVDC) and Ayala Center Cebu.
