City Savings Bank (CitySavings) simultaneously held the National Teachers’ Day celebration last September 30 at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City for public school teachers based in the National Capital Region and at the Ateneo de Davao University for Mindanao-based public school teachers.

The same activity was held in Tacloban City last October 5 at the Tacloban City Astrodome for public school teachers from Region 8.

Around five thousand public school teachers attended in each regional event. The celebration was in partnership with National Teachers’ Month Coordinating Council and the Department of Education.

“Thank you CitySavings for giving importance to us teachers by celebrating the National Teachers’ Day,” said Joy Raga from Malaihan Elementary School in Burauen, Leyte.

Last October 1, CitySavings’ 106 branches nationwide offered special snacks, goodies, personalized bookmarks and button pins to teacher-clients, to give honor to the teaching profession and to its major stakeholders – the public school teachers.

“Deep in my heart, as a teacher, I’m thankful that I took things smoothly everyday with people, especially my students. I’m eager to learn more and continue sharing my journey of teaching to serve them. A good, trusted, easy and simple way of banking, thank you CitySavings for your services,” said Ma. Liza Bersabal from Commissioner Luis Asis High School in Panay, Capiz.

CitySavings also participated in the Mega Cebu Month “My Mega Ma’am/Sir,” in partnership with the Coalition for Better Education and Mega Cebu last September 30.

The competition was open for all teachers both in private and public schools and was judged according to the number of FB likes and results of a panel interview conducted to each of the nominees.

The Mega Ma’am champion Dr. Rubilyn Pastrano from Punta Engaño Elementary School and other winners were awarded last September 30 at the Ayala Terraces Cebu by Reputation Management head Paula Ruelan together with DepEd Regional Director Juliet Jeruta.

To cap the month-long National Teachers’ Month celebration and as part of their 50th anniversary celebration, CitySavings hosted a grand event themed “Handog Pasasalamat” last October 23 at the Radisson Blu Hotel.

This is to honor its primary stakeholder and education partners from different public schools nationwide, recognizing the value of teachers as both customers and partners and for being a significant part of the bank’s success.

“Thank you so much CitySavings for giving us great honor by celebrating National Teachers’ Month nationwide. You are a true partner to us and we are very glad to have you,” said Irna Recimiento from Langub Elementary School in Asturias, Cebu.
