THE Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) is considering asking the Provincial Board to create an ordinance encouraging all local chief executives to retain their town’s disaster responders despite their different political affiliations.

Julius Regner of the PDRRMO said they were considering this option after they found out that Badian, Pilar, Minglanilla, Borbon, Madridejos, and Samboan had no Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (LDRRMO) because of politics.

He said these towns had no LDRRMO because when the new local government administration would take over, those disaster responders belonging to a different political affiliation would be let go.

Regner said this would result in the town having no disaster responders which were needed for these towns LDRRMO, since these were the people who would man these offices.
