Airport guard nabbed for drug use

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA 7) arrested a security guard at the Mactan Cebu International Airport for allegedly using illegal drugs in a room within the airport compound in Lapu-lapu City on Thursday evening, said the agency’s spokesperson Leia Albiar.

Albiar identified the guard as Gilbert of the GDS Detective and Security Agency, a private security agency. It was known yet of the security agency was contracted by the MCIA Authority or by the GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corp., which operates the airport.

Another guard and a still unidentified drug suspect eluded arrest.

Charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will he filed against Jatico, Albiar said.
