ACTRESS and television host Anne Curtis has crossed another item off her bucket list after finishing the New York Marathon, dubbed as the largest marathon in the world that coursed through five boroughs of the city.

A UNICEF Philippines’ celebrity advocate for children, Anne dedicated her first ever marathon, which she called a “dream come true and personal milestone,” to the Filipino youth.

“I did it! My very first marathon in NYC! What a bucket list moment. I can’t explain how fulfilling it is when you cross the finish line. It certainly isn’t easy but the whole experience is worth the physical pain. Each borough (there were 5) had a different feel, music and vibe. The spectators are there to cheer you on, give you power up high-fives and push you when you feel like you want to stop,” Anne wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of her wearing a medal.

“To all the kababayans that were out there today to cheer me on…screaming and some even with posters, Maraming Salamat. Nakakaiyak and yan po ang dahilan kung bakit halos hindi nawala ang ngiti ko (Thank you so much. It’s touching and it’s why I the smile never left my face). After my first… I would like to conquer more! 26.2 or 42.165 dedicated and inspired by the FILIPINO YOUTH and it’s through God’s grace, I FINISHED,” she added.

Aside from finishing the race, Anne also targeted to raise at least P42,000 for the 42 kilometers she ran, proceeds of which will go to UNICEF Philippines.

As of this writing, Curtis has raised P52,353 from 22 donors.
