HOODWINKED

Residents of Barangay Sillon, Bantayan town in Bantayan Island were looking for a woman who took money from them and assured them that they will get paid back.

They said the woman, whose identity is being withheld until her side is heard on the issue, claimed that she will pay them after she received P12 million from a foundation supposedly run by friends of former first lady Imelda Marcos.

They said they gave P12,000 of their hard-earned cash to her, and she disappeared with their money.

LOSS

The necrological service of former Provincial Board member Arleigh Sitoy had moved even strangers and some media who were in attendance.

A reporter said she can relate to the family, having lost a family member in the past.

“Lisod mawagtangan (It’s hard to lose someone). Been there,” she said.

ADVICE

A mayor was seen talking to a lawyer whom he asked for advice regarding a suspension order on him.

But the lawyer stopped him, asking him if he is sure that he can talk about it openly considering there were reporters sitting across them.

But the mayor said, “Okay ra na (That’s okay),” then the two continued talking.
