CCNSHS, USJ-R word wizars shine

THE CEBU City National Science High School (CCNSHS) and the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) shared top honors in the 3rd Roger Abella Memorial Open Scrabble Tournament held at the Robinsons Cybergate Saturday evening.

CCNSHS’ Lear Jet dela Cruz ruled the high school division while USJ-R’s Chairylle Jasmine Bucao emerged victorious in the elementary division.

Jessa Marie Manigos and Louis Drei Candia, also from CCNSHS, were the runners up in the high school division. In the elementary competition, finishing second was University of the Visayas’ (UV) Leanne Denise Candia while Trinah Keisha Martinez was the third placer.

Meanwhile, international word wizard Teodoro Martus Jr. outplayed defending champion Renante dela Cerna to claim the professional division crown.
