FORMER University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers standout and now Centro Escolar University (CEU) court general Orlan Wamar continued to make a name for himself in Manila as he captured the Finals MVP award in the recently-concluded Universities and Colleges Basketball League finals on Thursday at the Olivarez College gym in Parañaque.

Wamar scored 10 points and pulled down four rebounds to help the Scorpions take down the Olivarez College Sea Lions, 59-38, and sweep the finals series.

More importantly, Wamar anchored the Scorpions gritty defensive stand that limited Olivarez to a mere two points in the third to open up a 44-24 lead heading to the final canto.

Wamar, who led the Baby Lancers to a runner-up finish during the 2014 Cesafi juniors competition, grabbed the prestigious award after averaging 10.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in the short two-game championship showdown.
