Public told to be vigilant against thieves

Police called on the public to always be vigilant in guarding their belongings from thieves who prey on residents and visitors during the holiday season.

PO3 Cliffton Manogura of the Abellana police precinct said this in response to a theft suspect accused of robbing a taxi.

Manogura said taxi drivers can sense if their passengers have ulterior motives if they want to head to dimly lit areas where police presence is absent.

He said jeepney passengers should avoid being cornered by suspicious looking people inside the jeepneys to avoid being robbed.

Both drivers and passengers were advised to take note of the suspect’s appearance.

“Secure your bags and things. Never be complacent,” Manogura said in Cebuano.
