Alcos unloads 42 to help Cobras sting Pythons

THE Cobras leaned on the incredible performance of Aristotle Alcos to thwart the Pythons, 102–68, in the Cebu Weekend Basketball Club (CWBC) last weekend at the City Sports Club Cebu basketball court.

Alcos sizzled on the floor as he piled up a near triple-double of 42 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the Cobras’ win.

In other games, Cebu First District Representative, Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas led the Penguins to an 86–75 conquest of the Mantis as he scored 27 points, grabbed five boards and dished out four assists.

The Bulldogs also emerged victorious over the Dragons, 75–60, as Brian Gabasa flirted with a double-double of 18 points and nine boards. The Bears narrowly escaped with a victory over the Parrots, 76–73, behind the efforts of former Southwestern University guard Francis Ortega who had 29 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.

Meanwhile, the Mustangs beat the Roosters, 90–72, while the Scorpions got 21 points, seven rebounds and four assists from Nolan dela Pena to push them past the Pandas, 74–60.

Jig Paul Morales also waxed hot from the floor as he had 30 points, 13 boards and six assists to lead the Tigers over the Hogs, 86–50. Finally, the Toros crushed the Gorillas, 82–65.
