AFTER making it to the headlines as she slammed body shamers with a badass message, Siera Bearchell, Canada’s
representative to the recently concluded Miss Univese, might be coming back to the Philippines for another cause.

“You saw this pride three weeks ago and here it is again. I am back in Canada and ready to get to work. I am also excited to share that plans are underway for me to return to the Philippines. I can’t wait to see you all again. Stay tuned,” Siera wrote, posting a video of her dancing with Canada’s flag.

Siera, who made it to the top 13 of the competition, was one of the standouts of this year’s Miss Universe as she fought her way not just to the beauty pageant but also fought her own battles against body shaming because of the size of her body.

Three days before the competition, 23-year-old Sierra was asked about how it feels to be “physically larger” than the rest of the candidates, and her response was nothing short of an epic.

“How does it feel to be so much.. larger than the other delegates? I was just asked this question in a press junket by a member of the media. I was left almost speechless. I thought, “How does it feel to be myself? How does it feel to be confident in who I am? How does it feel to fulfill my dream of representing Canada on the Miss Universe stage? How does it feel to be a role model for so many young women who struggle to find someone to look up to? How does it feel to redefine beauty? My answer—it feels great,” she wrote on her Instagram.

Meanwhile, Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen, who returned to the Philippines to be one of the judges of the pageant, became emotional as her visit came to an end.

In an interview with GMA’s “Unang Hirit,” the first Indian beauty queen who clinched the crown, has promised to return to the Philippines with her children.

“I came all the way here and didn’t really get to see Manila or Philippines, so I need to come back with my children. Maybe we’ll go back to Cebu or Boracay,” she said.

A “surprise” winner, Susmita was crowned in 1994. The pageant was held in Manila.

For Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres, her joining the pool of judges for this year’s Miss Universe was just the start of her comeback to the country’s entertainment industry.

Fans of the beauty queen-turned-actress will get to see Dayanara more often as she will be guesting in more Kapamilya shows like “Umagang kay Ganda,” “ANC,” “ASAP,” “It’s Showtime,” “Tonight With Boy Abunda,” “Magandang Buhay” and “Gandang Gabi Vice.”
