AFTER a strong showing in the tryouts held at the Cebu Coliseum over the weekend, University of Cebu (UC) standout Clark Cuico along with siblings Elie and Elien Rose Perez of the University of Bohol (UB) may be donning the national colors in weightlifting competition of the 29th Universiade Games in Taipei City, Taiwan slated Aug. 19 to 30.

The tryout which was headed by former Universiade athlete and current University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) head coach Kelly Rojas drew weightlifters from University of San Carlos (USC), UB and UC.
Rojas is hoping that there will be no problems with regards to the documents of the selected athletes so that they can represent the country in the biennial event.
The final result of tryouts is set to be reviewed and evaluated by Professor Robert Calo, who is the chairman of the Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines (FESSAP) Monitoring Committee, so that they can be recommended to the Taipei Universiade Games.
