Lapu residents assaulted by ‘pals’

TWO persons were wounded after being attacked in separate incidents in Lapu-Lapu City yesterday morning.

PO2 Marven Saraum of the Lapu-Lapu City police’s homicide section said a certain Gilbert Duran of Barangay Canjulao is confined at the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital after being stabbed in the back by one of his friends in an eatery in the Muelle Osmeña Wharf.

Saraum said Duran was transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City while the suspect remains at large.

In Barangay Pusok, a resident lost consciousness after being struck with a skateboard by a friend during a confrontation in Sitio San Roque at past 1 a.m. yesterday.

The 21-year-old victim identified as Jomar Booc, a resident of the area, was drinking with friends at a store when the 21-year-old suspect identified as Calvin Tunacao and Booc’s brother Jerson Booc joined.

Tunacao then confronted the victim who slapped him in the face, causing Tunacao to hit him with his skateboard. Tunacao was later arrested by police.
