THE DON Bosco Technological Center (DBTC) clinched its third title in the 14th Thirsty Football Cup yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).

DBTC-A took home the boys’ under-17 title by beating fellow Bosconian team, DBTC-B, 4-3, via a thrilling penalty shootout.

Rafael Gorre won the MVP award in the division as DBTC added a third title in their stint in this three-day tournament. DBTC also ruled the under-nine and under-13 boys divisions.

DBTC-A defeated Motorace FC, 1-0, in the semifinals while DBTC-B edged University of San Carlos (USC), 2-0, in their final four match.

Meanwhile, Giuseppe FC won a second title in the tournament by ruling the girls’ under 19 division over the more favored Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC).

Giuseppe FC downed the Magis Eagles, 1-0, in the finals with Sassy Toledo claiming MVP honors. Giusppe FC also topped the girls’ under-15 division last Friday.

SHS-AdC didn’t go home empty handed as it topped the girls’ under-17 division by defeating Santa Barbara Futbolilits, 2-0, in the championship match. MVP in the division was Kim Eugene.

In the women’s open, Manila’s Outkast FC lived up to its lofty billing as it emerged champion by beating Negros Oriental’s Afficionados de Futbol, 3-1, in the championship match.

Outkast FC, according to tournament organizers, is composed of former University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) booters.
Action in the men’s open, boys’ under-15 and boys’ under-19 divisions was ongoing as of press time.
