Controversial young cager Justin Rosete back playing for UV

Beleaguered young cager Justin Jake Rosete is being given yet another chance by the University of the Visayas’ (UV) magnanimous team owner, Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas.

This after the young sportsman and politician confirmed that he has indeed pardoned and reinstated Rosete to UV’s Baby Lancer squad. Gullas declined to elaborate on his decision.

Rosete immediately made his presence felt in his return to UV as he scored eight markers in their 65-41 conquest of the Ateneo de Cebu in the Casino Active Cebu Youth Basketball League held last weekend at the Sisters of Mary School Girlstown in Talisay City.

Rosete initially earned the ire of Gullas and was booted out of the team a little over a month ago after he was caught on video, striking the injured chin of Ateneo de Cebu’s Andrew Velasco in Game 2 of the NBTC Cebu finals.

Back then, Gullas apparently has had enough of Rosete’s shenanigans and banished the youngster from the team as the incident came a few months after he was suspended for four games for putting Ateneo de Cebu’s Andre Chua in a headlock during a looseball scramble in a Cesafi match.
Cebu Daily News tried to get the sides of players from both teams but none of them would comment on the issue.
