Hard Court Kings stop Tribu five

THE Hard Court Kings and the ARQ Builders posted separate wins at the start of the Monday Squad Basketball Club (MSBC) Season 2 at the Casal’s Village Gym in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

The Hard Court Kings of playing team owner Mark Anthony Ynoc drew 13 points apiece from Janjan Auditor, Urleo Rizane and Michael Balankig in pulling off a 71-60 win over Tribu.

Also coming up big were the ARQ Builders, who displayed solid team effort in downing defending champion Silogan ni Gian, 81-74.

Darren Gumapac fired 13 points to lead five ARQ players in twin digits. Aldrin Fernandez and Kheldon Sereno added 12 apiece, while JJ Gesalem and Anton Solon contributed 10 each.

The Builders’ balanced attack allowed them to survive the 24-point output of Silogan top gun Archie Batua. Silogan also got 18 markers from Chris Uy, while Jojo Labrador and Eric Compayan donated 11 apiece.

In other games, Jefferson Nuevo dropped 25 points to lead MJ-Z Collections 101 to a 65-62 win over Aspa, while Gerry Monila and Kenneth Abrantes combined for 25 markers to help In This Corner trip the Warriors, 61-53.

In a friendly game that ushered in the brand new season, Greg Reston and Gerald Yncierto connived for 28 points to spearhead Team Estreba’s tight 50-49 triumph over Team Baring.
