THE Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras forged a three-way tie at the top after they downed the erstwhile unbeaten University of San Carlos (USC), 7-6, in the fourth season of the Cebu Flag Football League (CFFL) Inter-Collegiate Tournament yesterday at the UC-METC field in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.

SWU, USC and Velez now have identical 5-1 (win-loss) records but the Warriors earn the top seeding going into next week’s semifinal round after accumulating the highest points in the elimination round.

USC will take on the fourth-ranked University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars, while the second seed Velez College Cougars will battle the third-ranked Cobras.

The Cougars scored two victories yesterday.

They thumped the Cebu Aeronautical Technical School (CATS) Airmen, 20-0, after starting the day with a 7-6 nail-biter over USJ-R.
