THE Mustangs continued to lord over the standings in the Cebu Weekend Basketball Club as they thrashed the Cobras, 80-69, last weekend at the City Sports Club Cebu basketball courts.
Chase Cokaliong scored 20 points to lead the Mustangs.
The win gave the Mustangs an 8-1 (win-loss) record while dropping the Cobras to 4-5.
The Toros also improved to 6-3 with a close 74-68 win over the Scorpions.
Aaron Embrado punched in a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds to tow the Toros to the win and drop the Scorpions to 4-5.
The Gorillas also emerged with a 102-100 win over the Tigers for their second win in eight games.
JR Manzanares tallied 27 points and 21 rebounds to negate the efforts of the Tigers’ RJ Acha, who piled up 30 points and 16 boards.
