CESAFI stars Alden Dave Cabaron, John Eduard Carascal and John Kenneth Sarcena got their first taste of action up north as they went toe-to-toe with the other members of the 25-man pool of the Philippine Men’s Volleyball team in the scrimmages yesterday at Arellano Law School in Taft Avenue.

The trio, who were also joined by fellow Cebuano and University of Perpetual Help Dalta brothers Rey and Relan Taneo in the pool, arrived in Manila last Monday and participated in the drills yesterday.

In an exclusive chat with Cebu Daily News , the 2015 Cesafi Most Valuable Player (MVP) Cabaron said that national team mentor Sinfronio Acaylar told them to give everything on the floor since they are up against stronger foes who are also vying for a spot in the 12-man team.

The 25-man pool will be cut to 18 players next month but Acaylar said he still has no idea as to when will the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc. (LVPI) name the final 12 man who will be competing in the Southeast Asian Games.
