ROSALINDA Cosino defended her title in the female category of the 42-kilometer full marathon of the Halad Ni Leon Kilat 42k Marathon, which started at the Mancao Ancestral house in Carcar City and ended at the Yap-Sandiego ancestral house in Cebu City.

Cosino, an ultra marathoner, clocked five hours, 12 minutes and 32 seconds. Marife Dalusong finished second with a time of 5:14.32 and Jennifer Zabala rounded off the top three finishers, clocking 5:17:20.

Niño Joel Lumontad crossed the finish line in 3:40.42 to claim the top spot in the male category. Moises Bacon (4:00.06) and Trexie Tura (4:00.08) finished second and third, respectively.

Team Mega Wear, meanwhile, won the relay contest with a time of 4:10.17.

The annual running event was organized by ultra marathoner and environmentalist Tony Galon to commemorate the heroics of Cebuano revolutionary leader Pantillon Villegas, also known as Leon Kilat, and the famed “Battle of Tres de Abril.”
