A HEATED debate on religion between two churchgoers ended with one of them landing in a hospital due to hack wounds inflicted by the other in Barangay Libho, Tabogon town in northern Cebu.

Tabogon police identified the victim as 54-year-old Alexander Dela Cruz Jr., a resident of Barangay Pelaez, Bogo City while the suspect was identified as 43-year-old Birthlie Apatan Cadallo, a resident of the area.

PO1 Jomar Malinao of the Tabogon police precinct said Dela Cruz, a Seventh Day Adventist member and Cadallo, a member of the Church of Christ, argued over their beliefs with Cadallo losing his temper and allegedly hacking the victim.

Cadallo surrendered to police and is detained at the Tabogon police precinct pending the filing of charges of frustrated murder against him./CNU Intern Sheen Manigo
