THE officer linked to the irregular issuance of certificates of tribal membership (CTMs) at the National Commission for Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) regional office tendered her “irrevocable resignation” last April 17.

NCMF Regional Director Malo B. Manonggiring confirmed that Cherylvenia Fernandez resigned but didn’t explain the reason for her exit. “She thanked our office for giving her the opportunity to work,” he said.

CTMs are issued by the commission to Muslims as proof of their identity and as part of their requirements for applying for government jobs, passports and other documents.

Aside from Fernandez, a certain SFO3 Steve Tanudtanud of the Cebu Provincial Fire Marshall is also under investigation for allegedly transacting with Fernandez.
