ROAD wins are sweet but it couldn’t be more melodious for Kiana de Asis as she made her trip worthwhile by becoming the biggest winner in the Palawan Pawnshop – Palawan Express Pera Padala (PPS-PEPP) regional tennis tournament.

The La Carlota City, Negros Occidental netter bagged three titles at the end of the tournament yesterday at the San Roque Tennis Courts in Mandaue City.

De Asis was tested by Australian AJ McKenzie but still grinded out a 6–0, 4–6, 10–6 win to pocket the 16–under girls’ title.

The 15–year old then defeated Cebuana Pherl Bless Coderos, 6–0, 6–1, for the 18–under girls’ crown before capping off her dominant run by teaming up with Erica Sevilla to win over Shedel Gica and Lyrah Repollo, 8–3, for the 18–under girls doubles championship.

In other games, Cebuanos Vhon Tudtud, Vinz Lominoque and Chad Connor Cuizon also got their share of success as they pocketed two titles each in the tournament.

The nine–year–old Cuizon ruled the 10–unisex division with a 4–1, 4–0 spanking of Jovani Dimate before joining forces with Douglas Maravillas to slay the pair of Dimate and Louchela Estember, 8–4, for the 10–unisex doubles crown.

Tudtud survived Consolacion Cebu’s Jude Balundo, 4–6, 7–5, 10–4, for the 18–under boys tiara and teamed up with Vinz Lominoque to defeat the pair of Lemuel Garbosa and Herbert Sarraga, 8–7 (4), for the 18–boys doubles title.

Lominoque got his second title in the 16–under boys’ division courtesy of a 6–1, 6–1 triumph over top–seed Troy Llamas.

Another Cebu bet who bagged a title was Asturias Cebu’s Julianna Maravillas, who defeated Repollo, 6–2, 6–3, for the 14–under girls’ title.
