MAYOR’S PROTECTION

A group of tourists passed by a derelict house on an island in northern Cebu that bore a sign stating that “this house is protected.”

When they asked around, some residents told them that the house is under the protection of the town mayor, an alleged drug lord protector.

The tourists could not help but wonder what was inside the house and took photos of it for posterity.
POTHOLE ROADS

A taxi driver complained that most roads in Cebu City are full of potholes.

He said he can’t wait until the next elections so he can vote for someone who will fix the roads.

“Even the roads that don’t need fixing are wrecked just so they can be fixed again,” the driver said.
DUTERTE’S DOUBLE STANDARD

Not a few were shaking their heads over a photo of President Rodrigo Duterte seated with a few government leaders and officials who were mired in corruption cases.

One such observer said the President’s presence with these leaders renders hollow his daily sermon on the Catholic Church’s hypocrisy and corruption.
