FAKE RICE?

Netizens offered their own theories on the allegations of fake rice distributed to beneficiaries in Santa Fe town.

Dawn Ortega wrote, “Di man kaha FAKE? ayaw lang ta ma mili since kita man nag need (let’s not be picky since it is we who are in need ). In the receiving end man ta. Be thankful. God works in mysterious ways.”

Another netizen, Myrah Wamelda Rellon, wrote that it’s time for people to plant rice and root crops.

“If not let’s be contented with what government is giving. Kung walang lupa (if there’s no land) still we can have good rice during harvest time. Tutulong sa may palayan pag harvest at ang payment ay palay. Ganon din sa mais (One can help in the rice fields during harvest and the payment is rice). My lolo (grandfather) used to do it to his harvester and he receives corn as payment.”

Esme Lou Bearis said, “For goodness sake just say thanks, the rice was given to you people.”

Olma Bayno, however, urged the residents to go to the National Food Authority (NFA) office and bring at least one kilo of rice they suspect of being fake for lab examination.
