FAKE NEWS PROBE

Netizens were unanimous in praising the Police Regional Office for its decision to investigate the administrators of the Facebook page Cebu Flash Report after they came out with false, unverified posts claiming there was a bomb planted in Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, on Tuesday.

A netizen named Pancho Ramirez wrote, “Sakto jund na (That’s just right), they should be investigated and they should have used the word suspected or alleged instead of posting na confirmed. It scared us big time.”

Another netizen, Mark Densin, commented, “They should read their posts before posting right away. Wala silay pakabana ug nag dala ra silag pang hadlok sa katawhan (They had no awareness, and they just scared the people).”
