JOIRENE Salcedo drained a game-winner at the buzzer as the Tigers defeated the Sharks, 69-66, the second week of the Elite Basketball Club – Cebu over the weekend at the Visayan Glass Gym in Guadalupe, Cebu City.

The game was tied at 66-all in the game’s final seconds before Salcedo hit his buzzer beater from beyond the arc to give the Tigers the redemption they badly needed after losing the title to the Sharks last season.

Borgie Cabigas led the Tigers with 17 points while Salcedo and reigning MVP Armando de Jesus had 12 markers apiece.

The Tigers continued their rolling start in the season as they now have a 2-0 (win-loss) slate while the Sharks dropped to 1-1.

The Panthers also pulled off a close win over the Cheetahs, 66-63.

Neil Buot had 16 points while Mark Panerio and Rorie Paspie chipped in 14 each as the Panthers improved to 2-0.

In other games, the Stallions turned back the Rams, 66-64, the Bulldogs downed the Jaguars, 76-52, and the Lions toppled the Wolves, 78-73.
