Zoom to the islands aboard 2Go’s newest additions to its fleet – M/V St. Camael and M/V St. Sariel.

M/V St. Camael was officially launched last June 15 at Pier 4 in Cebu. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was graced by Cebu City Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella along with 2GO Travel and SuperCat executives. Special guest and Philippines’ King of RnB Jay-R wowed the crowd with his performance of SuperCat’s official jingle – “Zoom to the Islands”. Guests were then treated to an hour-long cruise along Cebu City’s coast. The fast ferry is now catering to passengers taking the Cebu to Ormoc route.

Its sister fast ferry, M/V St. Sariel, officially sailed its maiden voyage from Cebu to Bohol on July 6. Just like M/V St. Camael, the 300-seater passenger fast ferry is equipped with high-tech and world-class navigate by wire and touch system navigational controls. Running at 25 knots, the two fast crafts are Bureau Veritas classed vessels. This means that these Balamban, Cebu- made transport units were constructed adhering to strict international standards of Bureau Veritas classification society.

“These two new vessels are Australian-designed and proudly 100% Philippine-made and constructed by Filipino engineers,” said Angelito Salvio, SuperCat general manager.

M/V St. Camael and M/V St. Sariel were constructed by Austal, a global shipbuilder with more than 25 years of experience. The international company offers the highest quality ships, systems and support for the world’s leading operators.

SuperCat now has eight vessels serving the ports of Batangas, Calapan, Bacolod, Iloilo, Cebu, Tagbilaran, and Ormoc.

2Go’s premier fast-craft line was recently awarded as one of Asia’s Most Trusted Brands and was bestowed the Excellence award by the Global Trade Leaders Club in Madrid, Spain.
