Free referees training program set Aug. 4
IN THE hopes of imparting basic knowledge to local barangay officials and providing livelihood, the Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) together with the Samahang Basketball sa Pilipinas (SBP) will host a “free” Referees Training Program this Aug. 4 at the Cebu City Sports Institute.
The referees’ program, which will cater all the barangays in Cebu, will be spearheaded by Rey Canete of the SBP.
“CCSC wants to have a continuing training for the basketball referees because this will be a venue for a livelihood or income for them because they will officiate if there will be leagues in their respective barangays,” said CCSC Commissioner Allan Delantar.
Delantar added that they have already invited all the 80 barangays in Cebu through the office of barangay affairs requiring them to send at least two participants in the three-day program which will end on Aug. 6.
