DESPITE having friends in government offices, Chinese businessman Kenneth Dong will be investigated thoroughly, according to the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7).

Chief Supt. Jose Mario Espino, PRO-7 director, said the investigation conducted against Dong will not be hampered, despite having friends in government offices.

“It will not in any way affect our investigation,” clarified Espino.

PRO 7 launched an intensive investigation against Dong to determine his possible involvement in the illegal drug trade after he was named as one of the consignee of the entry of the P6.4 billion worth of shabu from China.

Dong, who co-owns a luxury club in Mandaue City, was identified by a witness during the Senate inquiry as the alleged “middleman” of Chinese businessman Richard Tan in shipping 604 kilos of shabu to the Philippines early this year.
