FOLLOWING a disastrous start in the 29th Southeast Asian Games, the Philippine men’s volleyball team aims to keep their podium hopes alive when they tangle with Indonesia in a do-or-die game tonight at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

The Nationals dropped their first game against Vietnam, 25-19, 25-21, 25-20 last Monday and must beat the Indons to avoid an early exit since only the top two teams in each group after the single round-robin elimination will advance to the crossover semifinals.

The Philippines is grouped alongside Vietnam, Indonesia and Timor Leste in Group B while Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and Myanmar banner Group A.

“Gagawin namin ang lahat ng makakaya namin para manalo laban sa Indonesia,” said National team player and Cebuano Dave Cabaron.
Game time between Indonesia and the Philippines is at 7 tonight (Malaysian time).
