Cebu may experience light to moderate rains as tropical depression Basyang is about to enter the Philippine area of responsibility this afternoon.

The state weather Pagasa issued the advisory of a tropical depression at 11 a.m. today.

At 10 a.m. ‘Basyang’ was estimated at 1,140 kilometer east of Mindanao. Once it makes landfall, Cebu will experience rain showers.

Although there is no gale warning issued for Cebu, Pagasa weather analyst Al Quiblat advised fishermen on small boats and banca not to sail today.
