THE Cebu provincial government will give financial assistance to Ormoc City, Leyte, for the city’s rehabilitation efforts after it was hit by the 6.5-magnitude earthquake last July 6.

The members of the Provincial Board approved in mass motion a resolution granting Gov. Hilario Davide III to provide P1-million financial assistance to Ormoc City.

After the earthquake, several villages in Ormoc were inaccessible due to rockslides and cracked roads. There were no immediate injuries from the inland tremor that hit at a shallow depth of two kilometers. /USJ-R Journalism Intern Kristine Q. Remolisan
