THE SECOND Bantayan Island Beach Ultramarathon (BIBU) will unfold on Sept. 9 to 10 and will start and end at the Santa Fe Beach Club in Santa Fe, Bantayan Island, north Cebu.

The running event organized by Cebu Ultramarathoners Club (CUC) president Tony Galon, will have a 50-kilometer and 22k distances traversing Bantayan Island’s pristine beaches and terrains.

A total of 200 hardcore long distance runners have signed up for the lung busting ultra marathon.

According to Galon, the route will also cover Madridejos, which is part of Bantayan Island.

The cut-off time for the 50k is 10 hours while the 22k is four hours. “This running event is an opportunity for the participants to explore this beautiful island,” said Galon who added that he will require each participant to join him a day before the race for a cleanup drive along the beach of Santa Fe.
