WHAT are the things a fangirl or fanboy does?

No less than Teen Dance Royalties Ella Cruz and Julian Trono shared about what they had to go  through just to have that precious  encounter  with their idols.

The “JulianElla” love team was able to share their experiences as fans during a press conference at Cebu Parklane International Hotel last weekend for their film titled, “Fangirl, Fanboy” under Viva Films which will hit cinemas starting today, September 6.

Cruz said that she is a fan of Korean Pop since girl groups, 2NE1 and Girls’ Generation started.

“Ilang beses na akong nakapunta ng Korea pero sa Korea pa rin ang babalikan ko dahil  sa pagmamahal, influence ng Korea sa akin kahit sikat na ang K stuff sa atin dito. Everytime pumupunta ako ng Korea naghahanap ako ng chance na makita at least isang K Pop idol ko,” Cruz said.

Last year, Cruz also experienced waiting outside a music show venue just to see a girl group since she did not have any passes. Cruz braved the cold weather with a temperature of 2°C to -3°C in December last year in South Korea.

“Di ko alam kung paano makakuha at paano makapasok. Inabangan ko sila sa exit kung saan dadaan ‘yung car. So, may possibility na makikita ko sila at may possibility na hindi rin,” she added.

Luckily, Cruz was able to see them and just like any other fan, she waved at them.

Another instance was after they shot their film, “Fangirl, Fanboy” in South Korea.

After their shooting ended, she decided to extend their stay to see another girl group, Black Pink.

She was able to find a friend who could help her watch  the show since  Black Pink was promoting their new song that time.

“Eventually nakapasok ako and nakakuha ako ng meet and greet coupon. Na meet ko sila and nakausap ng five seconds,” she added.

With her efforts as a fan girl of  these girl groups in Korea, Cruz said that she appreciated more the efforts of her own fans.

“Pulubi ka pag isa kang fan girl. Nakaka-pulubi talaga. Sobra akong thankful sa fans ko dahil grabeng pagmamahal ang binibigay nila sa akin,” Cruz said.

Trono, for his part,  admitted that he is a fan of Ultimate Pop Superstar Sarah Geronimo who, like him and Cruz, is also managed by Viva Artists Agency.  Luckily for Trono, he got  to work with Geronimo for her concert, “The Great Known Unplugged” and he had a chance to perform with her.

It was a fan boy moment for Trono and he even took videos during the band rehearsals.  “Dami niyang tinuro sa akin recently. Sobrang saya. I’m looking forward to working with her again,” he added.

RED CARPET PREMIERE Cruz and Trono graced the red carpet premiere of their “Fangirl, Fanboy” held in SM City Cebu, where they were greeted by screaming fans eager to get a glimpse of their idols.

“Fangirl, Fanboy” is a romantic comedy movie and a Joyce Bernal production under VIVA Films, in cooperation with N2 Productions. The movie is directed by Barry Gonzalez.

Other stars in the film are Shy Carlos, Donnalyn Bartolome, Yam Concepcion and Ronnie Liang.

The story is about Aimee (Cruz), a dubber  of a Korean drama and a fangirl of Ollie (Trono), a star wanna-be.

Their world gets  closer when Ollie passed the audition for a lead role in a Korean-inspired drama.

Aimee helps  Ollie  improve his acting as he gets closer  to his dream of becoming an actor.
