Due to their active campaign against illegal drugs, barangay tanod (barangay police) in the villages of Bonbon and Taptap in Cebu City will be receiving incentives from the city government.

Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña promised to increase their honorarium, provide them new shoes, and issue new service vehicles to them.

Cebu City Office for Substance Abuse and Prevention chief Garry Lao said that recognizing the efforts of outstanding tanod will also encourage the other to do the same.

“Incentives will boost the morale of our tanod, this will make them work hard on their campaign against illegal drugs,’ said Lao.
